Kristen's Blue-Ringed Octopus

I met Kristen at the New York Empire State Tattoo Expo (@nyempirestatetattooexpo) back in 2018 and she kindly allowed me to snap a couple of shots of the blue-ringed octopus gracing her left arm:

This stunning tattoo was inked by Miryam Lumpini (@miryamlumpini), who is based in Los Angeles.

Thanks to Kristen for sharing her awesome tattoo with us here on Tattoosday!

Two Incredible Thigh Tattoos

Working through our archives, I stumbled across the following two tattoos, on Lindsay, spotted at the 2018 United Ink (@united_ink) Summer Vibe Tattoo Convention on Long Island:

This woman and wolf tattoo on Lindsay's right thigh was done by Igor Puente (@theredcrownmagic), formerly of 10 Thousand Foxes Tattoo (@10thousandfoxestattoonyc) in New York City. Igor currently works out of Dark Mark Tattoo (@darkmarktattoo) in Keene, New Hampshire.

Lindsay also had this incredible geisha tattoo on her left thigh:

This incredible work was done by Samantha Frederick (@sami_lynne) out of Depiction Tattoo Gallery (@depictiontattoos) in Arlington, Texas.

Thanks to Lindsay for sharing these awesome tattoos with us here on Tattoosday!

Jess and E.T. (2018 Coney Island Mermaid Parade)

Going through our archives, I stumbled upon this previously unpublished tattoo from the 2018 Coney Island Mermaid Parade (@mermaidparade):

Of course, this is E.T., gracing the leg of Jess. She explained that she got this done in tribute to her best friend. The work was done by Michael Patrick (@michaelpatricktattooist) from Milestone Tattoo in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She also shared this cool design on her arm:

James Shares His Sleeve By Travis Vagner (2018 NY Empire State Tattoo Expo)

I met James at the New York Empire State Tattoo Expo (@nyempirestatetattooexpo) back in 2018 and recent news events made me want to revisit this sleeve I spotted during the tattoo contest:

The two pieces on his arm represented, at the time, about 19.5 hours of work by artist Travis Vagner (@travisvagnerart), who hails from Canada.

The work is based on the art from video games Fallout:

and Counter-Strike:

Maddie's Family Heirlooms (Tattoosday Walks Into a Bar)

Back in December 2017, I popped into Krupa Grocery (@krupagrocery) in Brooklyn to grab a beer.

Maddie was behind the bar, and she shared a couple of her tattoos.

Her first tattoo was this knife, which she got when she was 18, at Hand of Glory Tattoo (@handofglorytattoo) in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Maddie told me this is a depiction of a sterling silver family heirloom - a bread knife that was in the possession of her grandfather's second wife. The family no longer uses it as a bread knife and regards it as a dagger.

She also shared this wedding portrait of her parents, tattooed by Ashley Strout (aka Ol' Ash), formerly of Magic Cobra Tattoo Society (@magiccobratattoo):

While talking to Maddie, I enjoyed a Light Year double IPA from Grimm Artisanal Ales (@grimmales):

It was delicious.

Thanks to Maddie for sharing her tattoos with us here on Tattoosday!
